It’s good to be home after a one and a half week vacation.
I missed my CSA vegetables. I also missed the internet and showering. We were up north canoeing on the Kickapoo River and kayaking on Lake Superior for a week and it was a really great trip—we put 1200 miles on our car and probably another 25 on our canoes/kayaks. Turns out, the latter aren’t the most efficient forms of transportation. Who knew?
I missed the last two CSA deliveries (don’t worry, the vegetables went to a good home), and now that I’m back, we’re in the midst of a summer squash and zucchini explosion. I’m pretty happy about it, plus all the other goodies in this week’s basket. Here’s what I’m dreaming about this week:
Red Cabbage

Summer Squash

- Just grill them for a minute or two after drizzling with olive oil and salt
