our entry way has lots of white. white walls, white closet doors, and very cold white tiles. we have one mirror that’s shoulder level. a bench to take your shoes off and that hides some storage. and a non-colorful rug i bought at target for cheap a long time ago.
i really hated not having a full length mirror on the ground floor. the only one we have is up on the third floor in our bedroom. and although jason thinks it’s silly, i’d like to take a glance at myself, head to toe, before stepping out the door. is that too much to ask? so – i bought a full length mirror at goodwill for $20 with the intent of snazzing it up with some color, and then hanging it to cover the fuse box that’s unfortunately uncentered on one of the walls.
i wanted jason’s help in hanging the mirror because a) it’s really heavy and b) something about drilling directly above the fuse box told me i should probably wait for an adult. so it’s up, but i don’t love it. i thought being off center wouldn’t bother me, but it looks, well, just not right. also, because we had to put the holes to the sides of the fuse box, the mirror ended up being higher than we wanted, and thus isn’t truly a full length mirror (i can almost see my ankles). so…we may either ditch the idea of covering the fuse box and move it to the center or the wall, at the correct hight, or, get a different mirror all together.
but a more successful change to the downstairs hallway is the new rug we purchased from fab. we needed a more substantial rug on our white tiles that get so dirty in the winter. we’ve been looking for a while, and this one is the perfect length so we finally pulled the trigger.
so what do you think? keep the mirror? ditch it? move it?
