a couple months back, my good friends ann and matthew got engaged. ann and i were college roommates for all 4 (and a half) years and i could not be happier for both her and matthew.
they have an amazing relationship and are wonderful friends. they live in denver and often host the massive amount of guests that make their way to the great state of colorado to ski, hike, go to concerts at red rock, or just hang out.
so when they got engaged, i knew i wanted to get them something really awesome. this, in full disclosure, is not something that i made. i had it made by a woman on etsy named sachi (her store is called stamps by sachi).
anyways, what better gift to give for an engagement than a stamp of the couple’s faces? i know, so random, but how awesome? here’s how it works. first, you send sachi an email with a photograph of the people:
then she draws them. you go through a couple of iterations until ann looks like ann (needed more eyelashes) and matthew looks like matthew (more beard). here’s what you end up with:
next she carves the stamps and sends you a sample.
and here’s what it looks like on paper.
i can only imagine the confused look on their faces when they opened their gift, but i’m hoping they enjoy putting their faces on whatever future wedding related correspondence is coming our way. matthew even told me to blog about it, and i couldn’t say no.
