Yes! This week marks our first CSA delivery of the season.
We’re members of King’s Hill Farm CSA for the second year in a row, and I couldn’t be any more pleased. Later on in the season, I’ll be getting a tour of the farm to see where all this marvelous produce comes from, and I’ll certainly be sharing it here. But for now, let’s just get a look at the vegetables.
This week’s box included:
- Some easter egg radishes which are likely getting pickled. We’re a little backlogged with radishes at the moment, so it’s a great way to preserve them.
- This green garlic and chives are getting thrown in one big spring frittata (I’m thinking goat cheese or feta, asparagus, and such will be good additions).
- Yup, those are edible flowers. Chive flowers to be exact, which are great to sprinkle onto a salad or to add to a vinaigrette for a subtle floral flavor.
- A nice head of bok choy to fry up with some ginger and shiitake mushrooms for an Asian-flavored side dish.
- And finally some rhubarb. I’ve waited to make rhubarb curd for too long, my friends. It’s on this week.
Not pictured this week: lettuce mix and asparagus. But let’s just have another look at chive flowers!
